Christmas on a budget!

After the All Saints Day, some people are worried for it's Christmas again. Some say that they all need money to spend for Christmas. It is so sad that people think of money every Christmas. Why we need to think of money with Christmas? Christmas is a season of love not money. But reality bites, so I will share some budget tips on how to enjoy Christmas without spending too much.

Christmas is time to remind us of God's love to us and reminder of everything beautiful about the birth of Jesus Christ. This is a time of Christmas Tree again, Christmas lights, Parols, Christmas nativity, Star lights, Christmas gifts, Christmas parties, Christmas Carole, etc. But, we can celebrate and be happy with Christmas Celebration without over spending .

For my kids, Christmas is the most exciting part of the year. So, I always make a way for them to feel that every Christmas is special to us and spreading love is the most important part because of Jesus.

Here are some budget fitting ideas for everyone to celebrate best Christmas ever!

Budget Decor
Every Christmas, my kids and I are excited to make our Christmas decor for our home. Last Christmas my husband and I tried to make our own white Christmas tree, made of torn trees that we picked from the backyard of our neighbor.
My husband was home last Christmas so it is easy for us to pick torn trees and build it as Christmas Tree. We painted it with white paint. My family really enjoys decorating that theme Christmas tree that we placed in front of our door. Kids enjoys to helped us by putting old Christmas balls and Christmas stars to it. Adding white Christmas lights gives beautiful glows to our self made Christmas tree. Relatives and friends who came to visit are really astonished. We have fun decorating it that is the most important part of it. This year I am thinking of something like it but changing some designs.
Total budget :
Torn Tree Branches                                     - For Free
Two 100 bulbs Christmas Lights                 - P220
One Quart White Pain                                  - P130
Old Christmas balls and stars                       - For Free
Total Amount we spend for decor in 2014   - P350
Thinking Christmas decor and celebration with family can make everything more meaningful and lovely
Christmas Dresses and Shoes
Christmas would not be complete for all kids without new dress and shoes. All kids somehow wants to have new pairs of shoes every Christmas. I know every mother can relate with that thought.
As a mother of a teenager and a nine-year old, I learned that they can change shoes and dresses so fast for they change their height, body type and feet size every month. So, why will you buy extravagant shoes or one time Christmas dress?
I always told my kids that you can be beautiful and look expensive without spending too much with dresses and shoes. I am so blessed that my kids are trained to understand the value of money and spending too much for clothes cannot make you more look good.
Last Christmas, we bought a beautiful silver and green dress for my youngest daughter, and a neon pink dress for my teenager in a mall's year end sale before December. We bought their dress in advance, we choose better dresses, and shoes in advance. We save money for beautiful pair of shoes last Christmas and we are planning to do early Christmas shopping this year again.
Total Buget
Beautiful silver & green dress of my youngest - P600
Beautiful neon pink dress of my eldest             - P400
White Ballet Shoes for my youngest                 - P300
Doll Shoes for my eldest                                   - P299.75
Total Christmas outfit of kids                            -P1,599.75
My two girls with their Chic and Beautiful Dresses last Christmas 2014

Christmas Gifts
Every month I tried to buy reserved gifts. Every time I go to malls, I tried to look for items or something that I can give to someone as a gift. This way I can keep more gifts in advance for my friends and relatives. By doing this, I can always save time for Christmas rush for I already bought some gifts in advance.
The clue is think of someone in advance for your gift giving and you can always save time and money for buying gifts in advance. Some items are more expensive during Christmas seasons. Also set budget for buying gifts. Not that you are being stingy about it but you need to think of budget for Christmas. All money out for the season is not good at all. Remember to save something for the rainy days.

Christmas Season Enjoyment
Christmas enjoyment is not all about money. As family or even with your friends you can visits good places where you can enjoy Christmas season without spending at all. Beautiful memories are all free, you just need to be creative on how to make one.
Try to visit the parks and city like of Makati who started to light up the street of Makati City last November 3, 2015 for Christmas. They feature the different churches of the Philippines ages 300 years and above with historical value. In a press release of greenbulb the Executive of the Ayala Land Inc.,led the ceremonial lighting. They have Christmas bazaars and you can enjoy all light presentations of old churches made from all lights for free.
You can also visit malls and they sets some area of the malls for beautiful nativity every Christmas, it is good for photo opportunity, you only need to be creative by taking your pictures.

Christmas Night
Every Christmas Eve, my family always go to church to celebrate Jesus' birth. In our church at Cathedral Of Praise , Christmas is the most anticipated service of the year, where we gather as a family to enjoy Christmas Songs, Christmas Dances and Christmas service. Kids are very excited to this event every year for they are always blessed to be part of Christmas presentations and also my husband and I as part of the choir. The Church Service is absolutely free, so all we need to do is ready ourselves to be part of this biggest celebration of the year. Why not spend your Christmas in the church with your family?
Total Budget :
Fare P50 each x 4 of us - we only need  - P400
The true meaning of Christmas is to spend it with your family and love one.

Christmas Dinner
Every home prepares food for family for Noche Buena. But aside from this Noche Buena, we also prepare dinner for our family. With my family, we are always attending church service so we don't need to prepare a dinner meal in the house, we usually eat light meal or sandwich or salad at the church before the service starts. And we will go home to prepare our Noche Buena.
Total Budget :
Light meal       -  P300

Noche Buena
Of course, Christmas wont be complete without the Noche Buena for the whole family. Filipino families are very known for its love for food. Usually its Pancit, loaf bread, fried chicken, lechon, different cooked pasta, different kind of salads and etc.
For my family, I usually prepare simple Noche Buena since we cannot eat a lot after church. Sometimes, I just cooked pasta, a chicken meal, and fruit salad.
Noche Buena do not need to be expensive. I don't know with others but I can only cook food that can be eaten. Not much, but cook just enough for your family. It will be waste of time and money if you will cook plenty of food for Noche Buena and then throw it. Usually on December 25th you are out of your house and celebrate with your relatives and the food you cooked for Noche Buena will not be eaten.
Total Budget:
Chicken Meal           - P156
Cooked Pasta            - P250
Fruit Salad                - P300
Total Noche Buena   -P706

Christmas is here again, all are excited to celebrate it for sure. Work in a budget for your family for you don't have to spend much to be happy. Be with your family and do everything together this season that can make you feel more happy and fulfilling. Always remember that Christmas is not just for expensive Christmas decor, Christmas gifts, Christmas dress and shoes, or over spending dinner or Noche Buena. What matters is you celebrate every Christmas with your family and love one. Who says you can't celebrate Christmas without over spending.

"Over spending on Christmas season is a choice. Why spend too much if all beautiful moments in life are free."

SEA Games 2015 points of laughing

Filipino Divers in SEA Games in Singapore scores zero-zero after a splashy-embarrasing attempt to men's 3m springboard last June 10, 2015.

It must have been tough for these divers to represent Philippines and then gain booos from Filipinos too. The Filipino diver John David Pahoyo 17-year old who became a laughing stock online after this video became viral.

Whats Funny?
As if this young diver never knew what competition is? As if this athlete just went to a pool party with his friends and jump for his friends to laugh. I just found my self laughing too after watching the video, is like "talon sa ilog" (jump in  river). Filipinos all over the world may share my thoughts that this guys trained from "ilog" (river), It is funny because he is representing Philippines , this simply shows a Filipino style of diving ...all natural. Maybe he forgot that he is in SEA Games representing the Philippines.

Learnings
In reports from The Straits Times.com even Pahoyo found his diving funny, but more than laughing stock he learned from the experience.
He said " But after all this was not the first time I failed a dive, and I was not the first one who did so. And I am still proud because not all of us has the privilege to represent our own country to such sporting event like this. And by the way can I ask all of you can still smile after getting embarrassed in front of thousands people."

Of course people will just comment whatever they wanted to say, as if they know the person involved. As if they know how to dive like these athletes. I am sure the parents are proud regardless of what happened. Knowing that they trained for only four days for SEA games we should give them a standing ovation for taking the challenge in behalf of our country.

What a failure?
Reports says they only trained for four days before the SEA Games. How does the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) allow them to be trained only for four days for this big game? Are they allowed to go to a SEA games without proper training?
Are they qualified for being an athlete? What must have been the qualifications for Philippine Team? Maybe if they were train more time it will not happen. Philippine Sports Commission should really try harder in training and finding an athlete for SEA Games and Olympic Games . Don't you think?

Still Proud
As a Filipino I am still proud of these Filipino athletes, regardless of enough training they never hesitate to compete and show what Filipino is in this sporting event. They are truly Pinoy sa isip sa puso, sa gawa at sa diving, diba?

Help for victims of Yolanda Typhoon in the Philippines

My kids are excited to prepare thier relief goods for school donation gathering for the victims of typhoon Yolanda. The school announced that they are going to participate to help victims from Tacloban who have been devastated by last typhoon and I can see that this is also an opportunity to teach my kids on how to be a blessing to the needy.

School teacher said kids can donate anything that they want to bring for donation, but spicificaly mentioned that the victims need packs foods like noodles, canned goods and bottled water and medicines.
Other from these my kids also want to bring old clothes and blankets but I explained to them that the school can only bring food donations and we can bring blankets and old clothes instead to our church who also gathers donations to help.

My little one said her donation is few and we need to add more like "milk for babies mom" she said and had a sad face while fixing a pack of noodles. I know my Stephanie has great heart to help but our resources is limited to packs of noodles and packs of canned goods and bottled water. My heart touched by her word that the babies needs milk too. Ofcourse I explained to her that every little thing and donation would help families in Tacloban now and it's not her donations does matters but her heart to help and I embraced her tightly for I know my daughter have a big heart to help even on her own little way.

These are the countries that have made offers of assistance from SunStar.Com

2. Belgium – medics, rapid response team, search and rescue personnel
3. Canada – financial aid; in-kind donations
4. China – financial aid

Celine Dion is Not Dead

I was scrolling Google.Com and read this news that Celine Dion died last week of October 2013. I red all the site that spreading the news and find out that the plane crash accident was not true. I said to my self it is just another false news like the death accident of Hong Kong Superstar Jackie Chan.

Apparently Celine Dion is not really dead. She  does not part of any plane crash or any accident that leads to her death. Celine is very much alive and infact release a new song  with singer Ne-Yo for Loved Me Back To Life album.
Fox News and CNN Facebook posts saying that “R.I.P. Celine Dion 1968 – 2013″ and “Her heart will go on? Celine Dion died in a car accident” circulating on Hollywood now is just a fake link to mislead people to virus that can damage site.

According to About.Com these are spam Facebook apps used to access people’s profile information and asks if you can re-post it, continuing to spread the false reports of Celine Dion’s death in a plane cash and Facebook users should not click on fake circulating news pieces saying she is dead.
Make sure not to become one of those suckers who falls for Facebook hoaxes. Warn your kids, family and friends not to click link that lead to a computer virus.

This is a copy of fake news spreading the death of the famous Hollywood singer.

Zoomanity Best in Tagaytay

"Mom this is the best Sem-Break, Ever!! "
These are words from my kids after we enjoyed our day in Residence Inn, Tagaytay last week while other people busy enjoying their holidays at cemetery.

I am glad that I accepted the invitation of my friend Arnel Bautista of kahitanodito.blogspot.com during the holiday at Residence Inn Tagaytay to experience Zoo at the South. The event is so timing for long holidays and a perfect event that I can bring my kids with me to enjoy their semestral break too.

My kids and I was very surprised that not only mini zoo is the offered of Residence Inn, Tagaytay, we enjoy the scenery of  break-taking overlooking view of Taal Volcano and the other animal shows and thrilling ride in the zip line and cable car.
khayeganda.blogspot.com
Our amazing experience on Zip Line
Watching my girls, I can say that they enjoyed the experience of seeing wild and farm animals alive in the mini zoo that Residence Inn had to offer.
The mini zoo has lots of python snakes, donkeys, a camel, big tigers, lions, different kids of fish, different kinds of birds, turtles, monkeys, lambs, crocodilles, rabbits, ect.
Zoomanity at its best!
Iam happy that they see on thier own eyes these animals and had a great encounter not only from textbooks.
Until now my little one still imitating the sound of the wild pig and monkeys. Talking about how big the Lion and Tiger was, and my eldest Sofia never stopped talking about our experience of ridding the zip line and cabble car, that how cold was her hands while the operator putting on her the harness.
With all the smiles my girls wears all week --really priceless!  I know they had a great semester break far from what they are expecting. I must say that this place is not just a mini zoo after all, they left  big and a wonderful experiences to everyone who visited them, a great escapade to share with family and friends.

President Nonoy Aquino (P-Noy) is not a thief?

Like everybody else in the Philippines I assumed that the first President Noynoy Aquino's (P-Noy)  primetime broadcast last night is about national security. I was worried that there might be an event that needs emergency broadcast from Malacanang. My disappointed that he only cleared the nation that he is not the thief on the issue of Presidential Contengency Fund and PDAF and other corruption issues now.
I am relief for its not concern about national security, for I know the President would only use primetime broadcast for important matters such us national disaster, announcement of martial law, national security matters, but as a Filipino citizen I am sad that he just pointed to the broadcast that he is not the thief.
It's just like other President who used their broadcast for announcement of their "I am sorry."
President Nonoy Aquino emergency broadcast
We'll we cannot do about the braodcast now, its done and it is already in the mind of every Filipinos who watched it.
Some politician's and netizens says that there is no big impact on it, some says the speech done in good taste assuring everyone that our President is clean.

For me,  I am in the middle of it. I mean I am happy to know that my President is clean and he has guts to stand and say it in the middle of every issue of corruptions in the Government. I am proud I choose the lesser evil from his election.
Every President of the country have incountered issues of corruption,  but this time in my heart I know President Noynoy is telling the truth that he is not a thief, the guy is clean.

Not everyone will agree that the President is clean, but for me I want to give him a chance to prove himself. Atleast instead of saying I am sorry, admitting he done wrong to people, he says that he is clean and ready to face people to say he is not "magnanakaw, at hindi kami magnanakaw!"
Every government has negative and contradiction about anything else in the goverment but what if the people will only give President a chance to govern right? Maybe we can have more jobs, more service to its constituents,  more citizens will be happy. Instead of provoking and telling bad to government, pray for the goverment.
We cannot perfect the goverment but the Bible says in 1 Thimothy 2:1-4 lets pray for the government to have peace and prosperity.
For now lets just be happy that our President is not magnanakaw. Right?

Woman equal rights?

Getting all new trending in social media and not surpise seing the photo of models from Instagram posted by Isabelle Daza kissing fellow model and IT girl Georgina Wilson with a photo captioned  with "Our take on equality for gay rights…", it was in the news and when I saw it on my friend's blog, I can't help asking what in the world is really happening?
khayeganda.blogspot.com
Screenshot from http://splittingmythoughtsinto2.blogspot.com/
They said the gesture is to support the US Supreme Court in historic rulings on gay marriage last June 26, which nullified  the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and Proposition 8 - Two struck down laws denying benefits to gay couples and cleared the way for same-sex marriage in California.
I can't really believe that these two beautiful ladies post a photo to support same-sex marriage. Nakakalungkot talaga! But what can we do, they post and people seem liking it.
This is a world pull of surprises; a girl before like Charise Pempengco, now out lesbian, a man before like Rustom Padilla after a while an admitted gay.
If this is a way of  telling to have equal rights, parang mahirap na magkaroon ng equal rights, you can change your gender anytime you want to.

I simply don't like the photo, for me it sets a connotation for young girls that it is ok to be gay or lesbians. I am sure every mom will agree.
Personally, I like Gorgina Wilson and Ysabelle Daza, they are beautiful and I thought that these ladies are mamahalin in a way, that they will not stepped down to this level of social media. I assumed befcause I know they were from a good family back ground and for sure adopts good values (I thought). I use to point out to my girls that I want them to grow like these ladies, but now I will think twice if I wilI still patronize them.
I wonder why do they need to do this? Is this how they describe woman equal rights? Big dissappointment for a mom like me, really.

NBA game ticket to the Philippines worth Pph32,000

Reading all notifications from my Facebook; I've red a status post of a friend saying that
"Php32, 000 for a NBA game in the Philippines! Manonood nalang ako ng "paliga ng Barangay" (Php32,000 NBA game in the Philippines, No way! I will watch a community basketball game instead)...I laugh a lot, I have to comment too! even I am not really a big fan of basketball game.
Reading all the comments, friends says they will also boycot the NBA in the Philippines for its ticket price and I end up commenting "Wow! Pang amortization na ng house yon!" (Wow! It's for house amortization already!)

Come on Philippines is always on the news with most poor of the poorest people and then an NBA game will cost P32,300, bleachers tickets is P8000+!
Says who that Philippines is poor, we can get NBA for price ticket of P32,000!

Was it the news lying, or the government lying? I heard that the GNP of the Philippines is blossoming, meaning government is doing well in terms of economic gain. And maybe having NBA stars to play here, wow! It must be really blossoming!
Not to mentioned big Hollywood stars who also show off here last month like Vin Diesel, Sara Jessica Parker, Nina Garcia etc. I am really happy for the Philippines it's a sign of progress, we been visiting by international personalities, and it's a good for the economy that Philippines is in lime life. It's alive! But spending too much for NBA games is not funny.

I've checked the website of NBA Philippines http://ph.nba.com/ the tickets for the NBA Global Games Philippines 2013 featuring the Houston Rockets and the Indiana Pacers hosted by NBA Philippines and SM, it was announced that tickets for a seat at Section E of the Mall of Asia Arena will be sold for as low as Php550, but the other seats will go for Php4,200 (Section D), Php8,400 (Section C), Php27,000 (Premium B) and Php32,300 (Premium A). Section C and D, and Premium A and B tickets come with free Global Games merchandise.

Maybe I am not just a fan of NBA stars, but I will not really spend P32,000 watching NBA game for only two to three hours.

And even if I am a fan or even if i have money to buy ticket it is not worth spending?
I can imagine things I can possibly do with P32,000, if not for my house amortization, maybe I would buy a new comfy bed, or I will spend it for vacation with my husband and kids. Not for a basketball game!

Comments from the post says they will watch it if it's for free. Some says they know that you can buy tickets for Php500 (actually its Php550)and put laugh signs because Php550 you end up watching almost on the roof.
I can imagine my friends giggles too while reading the Facebook post but in my personal views as a practical person, watching NBA game is a waste of money!

Maybe an elite people or a A and B class would spend that big amount of money for basketball game but not an ordinary or average Filipinos even the GNP or economy goes up.
I can help but remembering news about poor and poorest of our countrymen who suffered hunger even it says on the news that the economy is doing well, then you'll watch NBA basketball game for P32,000 or P8000+ on bleachers.
I just hope that the news match the news from the government, if they says the economy is blossoming no news aired a street children begging for food, or a public schools lacks books and chairs, then maybe an NBA game tickets match the average Filipinos to enjoy too.
How about you will you spend Pph32,000 for NBA game?
